PET Stretch Blow Moulding
A PET stretch blow moulder heats preforms in an oven, stretches them axially and uses high-pressure air to form the final bottle inside a mould. Machine output depends on cavity count, bottle format, preform design and the specific platform. Some systems are standalone; others are integrated directly with a filler in a combi configuration.
What to Compare
Important criteria include preform neck finish, bottle volume and geometry, cavity count, mould set, oven configuration, heating lamps, stretch rods, blow valves, compressor requirements, high-pressure air consumption, cooling requirements, preform handling, mould-change system and controls. Verify whether moulds and neck-handling parts for the intended bottle formats are included.
Integration with the Bottling Line
Standalone blow moulders typically transfer empty PET bottles to the filler through air conveyors. Integrated blow-fill systems transfer bottles directly between machines. The correct architecture depends on the existing plant, target output, hygiene requirements, available space and utilities.
