Cap sorters and orientators take closures from bulk supply and present them in the correct orientation to a capping machine. Reliable cap feeding is essential for stable high-speed capping and to prevent stoppages caused by inverted or misaligned closures.
Main Technologies
Systems can use vibratory bowls, centrifugal sorters, mechanical elevators, waterfall orientators or vision-assisted feeding depending on cap geometry and output requirements.
What to Check Before Buying
Confirm closure diameter, height, shape, material and orientation requirements. Check hopper size, sorting mechanism, cap chute, sensors, reject system, variable-speed drives and the interface to the capper. A machine built for one cap family may require significant tooling changes for another.
Applications
Cap orientators are used with plastic screw caps, crown caps, sport caps, aluminium closures and other closure systems on water, soft drink, food, wine and household-product lines.
Integration
The orientator output must exceed or comfortably match capping demand and should provide stable cap delivery without excessive back pressure in the chute.
